Mascot Design
As a group project and in an effort to make a local museum more approachable to kids, we decided to create a proposal for a mascot that could serve as a relatable medium for children to identify themselves with. We also tried to come up with an idea of how a physical live-size puppet could work.
The mascot
We wanted it to have the basic facial features and expressions of a kid, such as big eyes and a larger head. Also it needed to be somehow neutral both gender and race wise. The 3 colored bands correspond to the museum’s branding style guidelines.
Life-sized puppet
We thought about making a physical version of it. This is a detail of the structure it could have so it could be operated by a person.
Versatility
The mascot required to be versatile, able to depict a multitude of actions to help the storytelling aspect fo a museum. These are some examples we came up with of the mascot in different environments and actions.
